Secret to make your nervous system stronger!

HMS N-Meco is a source of antioxidant nutrients. It has shown benefit against various forms of oxidation and inflammation. HMS N-Meco is a proprietary formula with premium ingredients used for diabetes and nerve-related symptoms of diabetes including burning, pain, and numbness in the legs and arms. It may also help protect the retina from some of the damage that can occur in people with diabetes.  It contains methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12), Vitamin E and alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) from USA & Germany that work synergistically for greater health benefits.

    • The World Health Organization estimates that 346 million people have diabetes mellitus worldwide (WHO, 2012) and this number increases continuously due to lifestyle changing.
    • The National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2011 has shown that the prevalence of diabetes in Malaysia has increased by 31.0% in the space of just 5 years
    • An alarming 3.6 million adults are estimated to be affected by diabetes in Malaysia, according to the Obesity Prevention Council President, Jong Koi Chong.
    • Diabetic neuropathy is one of the long term common complications of diabetes and one of the most frequent complications of diabetes, as it affects 50% of patients
  • Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is common and frequent cause of morbidity and disability by predisposing the foot to ulceration and amputation

What is Diabetic Neuropathy?

    • Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes.
    • People with diabetes can, over time, develop nerve damage throughout the body due to exposure to high amounts of sugar in the blood.
    • Some people with nerve damage have no symptoms. Others may have symptoms such as pain, tingling, or numbness—loss of feeling—in the hands, arms, feet, and legs.
    • Nerve problems can occur in every organ system, including the digestive tract, heart, and sex organs.
    • Peripheral neuropathy, the most common type of diabetic neuropathy, causes pain or loss of feeling in the toes, feet, legs, hands, and arms.
    • Peripheral neuropathy may also cause muscle weakness and loss of reflexes, especially at the ankle, leading to changes in the way a person walks.
  • Foot deformities, blisters and sores may appear on numb areas of the foot because pressure or injury goes unnoticed. If an infection occurs and is not treated promptly, the infection may spread to the bone, and the foot may then have to be amputated.

1). Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12)

Methylcobalamin is the form of vitamin B12 that’s the easiest for the body to use. Vitamin B12 is commonly found in two form- methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin. Methylcobalamin is the most functional B12 supplement because it’s already in bioavailable form, the body does not need extra energy to convert it. Cyanocobalamin is common but the body must use precious energy to convert this form into methylcobalamin.  Taking methylcobalamin as a B12 supplement eliminates the need for this extra chemical reaction. Plus, it adds to the body’s pool of methyl groups necessary for starting every biochemical reaction.

It’s used as a dietary supplement and to treat certain anemias, it plays an important role in helping the body make red blood cells. In the human body, this compound has been found to possess strong neuro-protective and anti-aging properties. It offers nerve cell support in the brain, and contributes to stronger overall central nervous system function.

    • Supports brain cell health and nerve function.
    • It’s role as a cofactor in enzymatic reactions promotes nerve cell recovery and health.
    • Helps regeneration of injured or damaged nerves.
    • Synthesis of the building blocks for DNA and RNA, protect against degeneration processes of nervous system.
    • Essential for the maintenance of the integrity of the nervous system.
    • Synthesis of molecules which are involved in fatty acid biosynthesis.
    • Increases available physical energy
    • Supports brain cell health, sleep, mood, memory, higher concentration & Stress relief
    • as a neuropathic pain reliever. Its ability to cut neurotoxicity and regenerate damaged nerves results in dramatic pain relief for patients suffering from degenerative diseases such as arthritis and Alzheimer ’s disease.
    • Its methyl group stimulates serotonin creation, a neurotransmitter responsible for mood support
  • Regulates healthy homocysteine levels (Converts homocysteine to methionine. High homocysteine levels is undesirable and known to be an indicator of heart disease and stroke risk).

 2). Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA)

ALA is an antioxidant that’s in many foods, and it’s made naturally in our bodies. ALA is a mitochondrial fatty acid that is highly involved in energy metabolism which helps to turn glucose to energy. It has shown benefit against various forms of oxidation and inflammation. ALA seems to work as an antioxidant, which means that it might provide protection to the brain under conditions of damage or injury. The antioxidant effects might also be helpful in certain liver diseases.

    • Other antioxidants work only in water (such as vitamin C) or fatty tissues (such as vitamin E). But ALA is both fat and water soluble. That means it can work throughout the body.
    • ALA has been used for years to treat peripheral neuropathy in Germany. ALA is used for diabetes and nerve-related symptoms of diabetes including burning, pain, and numbness in the legs and arms. It may also help protect the retina from some of the damage that can occur in people with diabetes. High doses of ALA are approved in Germany for the treatment of these symptoms. Some people use ALA for memory loss, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), HIV/AIDS, cancer, liver disease, diseases of the heart and blood vessels (including a disorder called cardiac autonomic neuropathy) and Lyme disease. ALA is also used to treat eye-related disorders, such as damage to the retina, cataracts, glaucoma, and an eye disease called Wilson’s disease. There’s some early evidence that long-term use of ALA might help with the symptoms of dementia.
    • Being effective in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy
    • Potent antioxidant
    • Increased glucose uptake, lower blood glucose levels.
    • Promotion of new neurite growth
    • Prevent oxidation of LDL cholesterol
    • Protective against oxidative stress, atherosclerosis
  • Immune-modulating effects

3). Vitamin E

    • Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and essential nutrients for humans.
    • It is also a potent antioxidant.
    • Neuroprotective effect. Oxidative stress is thought to be a factor for nervous system.
    • Since the nervous system is rich in lipids, and since vitamin E is the principal lipid antioxidant, thus the vitamin has become attractive as a possible preventive.
  • Primary syndrome of Vitamin E deficiency is peripheral neuropathy.
